The London microfactory concept uses the latest technology and advanced workflow processes

Fashion-Enter is an enterprise that strives to be a centre of excellence for sampling, grading, production, and learning and developing skills within the fashion and textile industry. Fashion-enter has partnered with Zund UK to promote sustainable textile production in the textile and fashion sector. Sustainability is the only option to survive in the world.
In garments manufacturing, cutting is known to create undesirable waste of the textile material. Therefore, using D3 digital cutting technology, the new microfactory will train the persons to enter the fashion industry equipped with technologically advanced skills. High-performance digital cutting systems from Zünd, combined with highly advanced yet intuitive software, enable fully automated digital cutting with minimal manual intervention.

The D3 sets new performance standards with its innovative dual-beam system. The two beams can each be equipped with up to three different modules, potentially doubling the throughput in one fell swoop. The intelligent cutter controller optimally allocates the jobs to each of the two beams, ensuring top productivity. With its robust, rugged design, the D3 lives up to its true potential in industrial environments. The D3 is a precision machine. From an innovative drive system to the blade, all components are perfectly coordinated.

Jenny Holloway, Fashion-Enter CEO, said, “In light of the recent unprecedented demand for making in the UK, the timing of our unique partnership is excellent. In the last week alone, we have had five major retailers contact us for speed of response fashion. Now, thanks to Zünd’s outstanding cutting technology, we can commit to leaner and more efficient manufacturing. Zünd’s cutter is particularly effective on one piece flow which is the future of garment manufacturing working within the parameters of a microfactory which, in time, we will extend to our Welsh site in Newtown Powys. We want to say a genuine thank you to the amazing team of Zünd who spent the last week installing and calibrating the D3 cutter. Now, this is state-of-the-art manufacturing.”
