Vietnamese exports of textiles & garments down 12.9% in the Jan-Oct period

In the first ten months of the current year, Vietnamese exports of textiles and garments were nearly US $27.7 billion, down 12.9 percent over the comparable months of the previous year.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs informed that between January and October 2023, overseas shipments of yarns totaled $3.65 billion, down 10.8 percent, but up 12 percent in volume.

In textile and apparel exports to its key markets, those to the US reached $11 billion, down 20.6 percent, to Korea reached $2.4 billion, a drop of 3.6 percent, to Canada $0.84 billion, also down 16.6 percent.

However, exports of textiles and apparel to Japan rose marginally by 0.6 percent year over year to $2.9 billion in the period under review.
