Vietnamese exports of polyester staple fibre (PSF) to China, its biggest PSF importer, totaled US $1.04 billion between January and June 2023, a slip of 20.7 percent, when compared with the same months of the previous year.
“But in the second quarter of the current year, exports of PSF to China touched $610.7 million, a leap of 42 percent when compared with the first quarter of 2023,” a report of VNDIRECT Research informed.
The report forecasts that demand from China for Vietnamese PSF will show clear signs of recovery in the last quarter of 2023 or the first quarter of next year.
VNDIRECT added that Vietnamese fibre producers are waiting for a turnaround in demand from China, which is its largest importer of fibres.
