Yogyakarta to host ITMF & IAF textile and fashion conference 2025

The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and the International Apparel Federation (IAF) will jointly host a landmark conference in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from October 22 to 27, 2025. The gathering will combine the 40th IAF World Fashion Convention with the ITMF Annual Conference, bringing together leading voices from the global textile and apparel industries.

Themed “Navigating Uncertainty & Adopting Technology – Pathways to Sustainable Strength in the Textile & Apparel Industry,” the event will explore the industry’s response to shifting trade dynamics, sustainability imperatives, and the role of technology in shaping future competitiveness. The core conference sessions are scheduled for October 24 and 25 at the Marriott Hotel Yogyakarta, with a program that also includes company visits, committee meetings, cultural tours, and networking activities.

High-level speakers are expected to participate, including ITMF President K.V. Srinivasan, IAF President Cem Altan, Indonesian industry leaders, policymakers, and international experts. Panel discussions and keynote sessions will highlight issues such as circular fashion, supply chain resilience, and digital transformation across the global textile and apparel ecosystem.

Yogyakarta was chosen as the host city due to its rich cultural heritage, including its reputation as a center of batik craftsmanship, alongside its growing textile and apparel industry. The Indonesian Textile Association (API) has worked closely with local authorities to ensure the event also supports regional industry development, MICE tourism, and economic revitalization.

The joint ITMF & IAF conference is expected to serve as a vital platform for global collaboration, enabling knowledge sharing and partnerships while showcasing Indonesia’s textile and fashion strengths on the international stage.
