TEXtalks: What products Karl Mayer is promoting at Gtex?
Peter Obrist: In Pakistan, we mainly promote sizing machines and indigo dyeing machines with all the accessories means the direct and ball warpers plus rebeamers. In our product portfolio we further have slasher dyeing machines for the denim industry.
Such a machine will be supplied to a customer in Karachi in a few months’ time.
TEXtalks: Any new innovations from Karl Mayer?
Peter Obrist: In terms of indigo dyeing, we have introduced the double Vario dye box offering the longest dwelling time in slasher dyeing technology. Our latest innovation is the Prosize sizing machine which is available in a vertical and a horizontal execution. We have already supplied such a machine to a customer in Sindh which runs at a, let me say, revolutionary top speed of up to a 180 meter per minute. In the past the speeds were up to 80 or 90 meters. I am convinced that this new technology from Karl Mayer will leave a very big impact in the Pakistani market at least.
TEXtalks: So what this machine is specialized for?
Peter Obrist: We are supplying this for all applications, but the very first one here in Pakistan is running in terry.
TEXtalks:Â How do you see Pakistani market for Karl Mayer products?
Peter Obrist: For Karl Mayer, Pakistan has been a very important market for the past 30 years and despite of all the challenges here, I am still amazed with the pace our customers are investing. So, I see a very bright future for this market indeed.
