TEXtalks is pleased to present an exclusive interview of Eric Hopmann, CEO, DyStar Group on the occasion of celebration of 70 years of friendship between Germany and Pakistan for the interest of our readers.
TEXtalks: Germany and Pakistan are celebrating 70 years of Friendship, what would you say?
Eric Hopmann: Pakistan and Germany have enjoyed warm friendly relations since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in 1951. Pakistan was one of the first Asian countries to establish relations with the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany). These relations are based on shared values of democracy, pluralism, and respect for human rights, cultural and religious diversity, and economic liberalism.
TEXtalks: How DyStar’s technology is contributing to the advancement of the textile industry in Pakistan?
Eric Hopmann: The textile industry in Pakistan is mostly export-based and requires assistance from technological partners for achieving excellence and meeting retailer requirements, both in production optimization and improvement of their ecological profile. DyStar has always been the first choice of textile producers in Pakistan for this purpose. Our products and processes are top of the line and we provide maximum support for the producers. Key projects that utilized our signature Cadira® modules are widely known to help Brands & Retailers and their production partners save valuable resources, hence supporting the textile supply chain to foster a more sustainable production.
TEXtalks: How long is DyStar’s collaboration with Pakistan’s textile market?
Eric Hopmann: Sustainable products and solutions from DyStar have been supporting Pakistan’s textile and apparel supply chain for over two decades. DyStar’s establishment in 2002 further underscores our commitment to enable emerging markets with better accessibility to innovative solutions.
TEXtalks: Pakistan is a potential market; how do you see to increase the outreach of DyStar products to the local industry?
Eric Hopmann: Textile is a major industry in Pakistan but it is also generating excessive amounts of pollution in local land and water streams. Textile producers are always looking to improve their ecological profile by using sustainable products and processes. DyStar provides sustainable solutions to textile mills. We also provide ecological solutions and support for the local fashion of men’s and women’s apparel.
TEXtalks: Any special comments / messages to the readers on the 70th Friendship Anniversary?
Eric Hopmann: Both countries have shared values and vision for the future. Over the decades, Pakistan had benefited greatly from the technological advancements of Germany, especially in machinery and chemicals, and in turn, provided the human capital to realise many of the German’s endeavours. The relationship has always been mutually beneficial and we hope to see both countries further strengthen the bilateral cooperation, economic growth, and prosperity of their regions while contributing to global peace and development.
