He added that the sector is highly dependent on exports and they are sluggish because of the economic situation in the main export markets of the US and EU, which has slowed down exports.
Director of the Textile, Leather, and Footwear Industry of the Ministry of Industry, Adie Rochmanto Pandiangan, added that domestic industry must take advantage of the elections.
“Elections in February and purchases of textiles and clothing being normally high in May and June and with schools scheduled to open in same months and with also Eid taking place, the demand will surge,” he said.
