In a decisive step toward reinforcing human rights protections across its global supply chain, Teijin Frontier, the fibers and products division of the Teijin Group, has launched a dedicated Supplier Hotline to address workplace and human rights concerns. The service, which began on 14 July 2025, allows suppliers and workers to report issues securely—either openly or anonymously—through an inquiry portal supported by informational materials distributed across partner networks.
The company has partnered with the Global Alliance for Sustainable Supply Chains (ASSC) to ensure objectivity in handling reports. ASSC, an independent NGO experienced in supply chain oversight, will conduct initial reviews of all submissions related to human rights violations or poor working conditions.
Following these assessments, ASSC and Teijin Frontier will determine appropriate responses, with remedial measures implemented by relevant internal teams.
Teijin Frontier’s human rights framework draws on key international standards, including the UN International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The company also aligns with voluntary initiatives such as the UN Global Compact, reinforcing its pledge to uphold ethical practices across its operations.
The hotline complements Teijin Frontier’s existing internal ethics and grievance mechanisms, expanding its ability to identify, address, and prevent human rights risks in the supply chain. By providing a direct, confidential communication channel for stakeholders, the initiative strengthens transparency and accountability while supporting continuous improvement in labor conditions.
Company executives emphasize that this move reflects not just compliance with regulations but a proactive commitment to creating fair, safe, and respectful workplaces globally—an approach they believe is essential for sustaining trust with partners, customers, and society at large.
