Dr. Bettina Temath talks about Trützschler champions on automation, sustainability, and quality in spinning solutions

Trützschler champions on automation, sustainability, and quality in spinning solutions for ITMA ASIA

In an exclusive interview with TEXtalks, Dr. Bettina Temath, Head of Global Marketing at Trützschler Group SE, shares insights into the company’s latest innovations and strategic focus areas showcased at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025.

TEXtalks: Can you elaborate on the technology T-CAN by Trützschler at ITMA ASIA?
Dr. Bettina Temath:T-CAN is our latest automated can transport system, developed in response to the growing demand for labor-saving and intelligent handling solutions in spinning mills. It simplifies material movement, ensures cans are always at the right place, and reduces manual handling, which in turn improves overall yarn quality and process efficiency.T-CAN can be easily applied to the latest generation of Trützschler cards and draw frames, offering a smooth transition toward greater automation while significantly reducing labor costs.

TEXtalks: How does the TC 30i card help achieve higher output and consistent quality?
Dr. Bettina Temath:
The TC 30i has received tremendous feedback in global markets. It delivers up to 40% higher productivity in both man-made fibers and cotton applications without compromising on quality. Customers consistently report improved production efficiency, stable operation, and excellent web uniformity, making the TC 30i the most advanced carding machine available today.

TEXtalks: What quality benefits does IDF 3 bring when processing short fibers or recycled materials?
Dr. Bettina Temath:  IDF 3 delivers superior yarn quality for short or recycled fibers thanks to its single-zone drafting concept, which applies lower draft and enables processing of even the shortest fibers. This unique design minimizes imperfections like IPI and CV, ensuring homogeneous slivers and better yarn strength.

TEXtalks: How much floor space is saved using IDF 3 compared to traditional setups?
Dr. Bettina Temath:  The IDF 3 technology makes direct spinning for rotor yarns possible, eliminating the need for separate draw frame passages. This results in substantial floor space savings and a significantly more compact production layout.

TEXtalks: What is next for Trützschler in terms of innovation?
Dr. Bettina Temath: Our focus remains on automation, sustainability, and digitalization. With our T-CAN system, we are providing a solution that not only reduces operational costs but also boosts quality and consistency in sliver handling. We are continuously enhancing ourrecycling solution TRUECYCLED to help customers process textile waste efficiently. Our goal is to create smarter, more energy-efficient processes that minimize fiber loss and reduce the environmental footprint.

TEXtalks: How has the response been from visitors at ITMA ASIA 2025?
Dr. Bettina Temath: We are very pleased with the response. Visitors recognize Trützschler’s leadership in carding and automation technologies. The feedback confirms that our solutions are not only innovative but also meet the real needs of modern spinning mills striving for efficiency, sustainability, and top-quality yarn production.
