A rebound is recorded in October for the us apparel imports coming in from china

The volume of US clothing imports proceeded with its upward direction in October, both on a month to month and year-on-year premise, as retailers kept on recuperating from the pandemic lockdown and started to load up for the Christmas season. While shipment volumes from China were down on those a month earlier, the sourcing saw the increment for US  on a year-on-year reason without precedent in 14 months.

Vietnam, The second-biggest supplier,  saw shipments increase up by 0.41% year-on-year to 359m MM2. This analyses to a 4.8% expansion a month ago to 362m MM2.

India was the only other nation to record an ascent at 8.99% to 97m MM2.

All except one of the best ten providers of textile and clothing to the US saw shipment volumes enhance prior year, with Indonesia recording the lone decay. Turkey recorded the biggest increment at 43.59% to 42 MM2, while China’s was up 26.71% to 3.8bn MM2.
