The Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC) and EuroCham are hosting the first edition of the CSR Garment Awards on October 20, 2023, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The CSR Garment Awards will recognise and celebrate the outstanding efforts and achievements of fashion industry players in the realm of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability.
“This event was possible thanks to the essential contribution of the Giz Fabric Cambodia project and aims to celebrate and honour the remarkable corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts within the garment industry in Cambodia,” TAFTAC said.
“It is the perfect opportunity to showcase best practices and set new standards, particularly in light of the upcoming sustainability regulations being introduced worldwide,” the trade body added.
The objectives include recognise excellence of Cambodian manufacturers who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to CSR and sustainable practices, encouraging others to follow suit.
They also include raise awareness and promote best practices in sustainable fashion, showcasing innovative approaches and solutions that contribute to environmental conservation, social responsibility, and ethical practices.
Other objectives are drive industry transformation, inspire and motivate the fashion industry to adopt sustainable business models, responsible sourcing, and ethical production practices, leading to positive and lasting change.
