Chinese output of manmade fibres rose 8.8%

In the first ten months of the current year, the production of manmade fibers in China rose 8.8 percent from a year ago period.

However, the industrial added value of Chinese textile enterprises above the designated size dropped 1.9 percent from a year ago period.

Between January and October of this year, the operating income of the same enterprises was Yuan 3.792 billion, down 2.5 percent, while profits stood at Yuan 119.9 billion, a year-on-year decline of 5.5 percent.

In the reporting period, the production of yarn, fabrics, and clothing of enterprises above designated size fell 1.2, 4.2, and 10.1 percent year on year, respectively.

From January to October, total retail sales of consumer goods by enterprises of the above designated size reached Yuan 14,474.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent.

Of which, retail sales of clothing, shoes, hats, needlework, and textiles by companies of the above designated size surged 10.2 percent year over year.
