Chinese spandex exports were down 2.5% between Jan & Nov

In the first eleven months of 2023, China exported 64.9 kilotons of spandex, which is down 2.5 percent over the comparable period of 2022.

Chinese spandex was exported to 109 countries, and Turkey remained the largest export market, followed by Vietnam, Egypt, and South Korea.

According to data from China Customs, the proportion of these four countries accounted for 44 percent of total spandex exports in the reporting period.

Between January and November, exports to Turkey stood at 10.8 kilotons, a year-on-year drop of 29.7 percent and 16.6 percent of overall spandex exports.

Overseas shipments of spandex to Vietnam reached 9,272 tons, a massive increase of 121.5 percent, and accounted for 14.3 percent of the total, while it totaled 4,567 tons to Egypt, up 27.9 percent.

Meanwhile, those sent to South Korea touched 3,957 tons, falling by 12.4 percent year over year and accounting for 6.1 percent of overall Chinese spandex exports in the reporting period.

Spandex exports to Brazil, Pakistan, Taiwan, and many other countries also reduced in the period under review.
