French retail giant Carrefour add Textiles to their broadening blockchain

PARIS – Carrefour, one of the huge names in French retail is now expanding into the industry of textiles through their blockchain technology by making their way into the apparel industry. The initial plan is to begin this is new phase by targeting France and Spain’s market with 450 baby onesies and bedding products manufactured with organic fabrics. The next phase will be to extend the use of blockchain tracing to more Tex BIO Carrefour products in all countries where it operates.

The products that will be sold there will be Traceable. The buyers can find out the whole origin, where it was produced, what it is made of, how cotton was grown, including the date and place of various steps by simply just scanning a QR code on the product. The 2021’s consumer demand is completely towards transparency and companies are trying their best to provide this if they want to keep their clientele.

Moreover, a French blockchain specialist, Arianee disclosed that they were able to raise an 8 million euros investment so that the technology can further be developed and modernized which will help in boosting the digital services that are being provided to fashion and luxury industry.
