An Interview with Mr. Peter Spirgi – Rieter AG

TEXtalks: How do you see Pakistani market for Reiter?
Peter Spirgi: At moment, we go through difficult time mainly due to two points in Pakistan which has big influence; the Chinese yarn market and the second part is still power situation. Mainly customers struggling here in Punjab very hard. This is a sad situation for us and customers suffering in Pakistan.

TEXtalks: How do you see importance for energy saving for textile industry?
Peter Spirgi: From our point as a machine supplier, it is our main target. Energy saving is not only high issue in Pakistan but also in several other countries. Energy is becoming more and more critical point which we can do certain part of it in solving by developing energy saving machines. Other things, we have of course less influence but we do our best in this respect.

TEXtalks: How do you see the IGA TEX exhibition and how was the response from the visitors?
Peter Spirgi: First of all, I am very thankful to be over here. It is a really good adventure. We have lots of customers, interest is big and the environment in exhibition hall is really good. Thank you very much to organizer and the whole team here.

TEXtalks: How do you see Pakistani market in next decade?
Peter Spirgi: Pakistan definitely has huge potential to grow further, raw material is available here. Yarn, cloth, textile is needed everywhere in the world. Population is growing therefore I think Pakistan textile industry has good potential in future with value adding new technology, materials and energy savings.
