ISKO converts waste into Denim fabrics

Leading global denim manufacturer Isko is pioneering new technology to offer denim made from recycled content. Creating new denim from waste materials involves combining the fiber filaments with the post-recycled blend, yielding the R-Two fabrics, which come with Textile Exchange Preferred Fibre Certifications. The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is what Isko underlines as key, as it verifies material integrity by tracking recycled raw material through the supply chain from conception to completion.

R-TWO™ enables ISKO to include reused materials to craft reused and recycled denim fabrics while maintaining the durability and quality the company is known for creating a lasting impact at scale. ISKO fabrics are Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and/or Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) certified, which means buyers can be confident in the company’s innovative processes and recycled denim fabrics for all R-TWO™ products. All of Isko’s fabrics have the potential to be converted to an R-Two fabric, and the company intends for more than 85% of its entire collection to be made with the new solution by October.
REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE: The company believes in the waste hierarchy to support a healty environment. For ISKO, the focus is on reducing the raw materials. ISKO blends reused materials like recycled materials with certified recycled polyester, made from post-consumer PET bottles and other materials. Recycled polyester uses less energy than virgin materials, lessening dependence on petroleum as raw material, reducing the overall carbon and water footprint.
