Pacific jeans aims to double yearly exports in five years to 1 billion dollar

Pacific Jeans Group aims to take its exports to $1 billion within the next five years and is investing over $31 million to enhance its capacity.

Pacific Jeans Group operates 13 factories and employs 35000 workers and currently produces 40 million pieces per year and is one of the leading apparel exporters of Bangladesh. The group exported $500 million apparel in 2022 to around 50 countries.

As of 2022, the company exported garments worth $500 million and has set a target of earning $600 million by the end of this year.

A new production facility of about 7.5 lakh square feet is being set up in the Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ), which is expected to go into production by September-October this year, as per group sources.

Pacific Attires Ltd will be the name of a new factory that will produce high-value formal wear including suits, blazers, jackets, coats, dress pants, and casualwear. It will add 9000 workers to the group’s workforce.

The required machinery will be commissioned in time to ensure that production in the new facility begins by September-October this year. The new facility, when operated at full capacity, would add another $250 million to the group’s exports.

Pacific Jeans Group has kept sustainability on forefront during all new investment plans. It also plans to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 65 percent by 2030.

Bangladesh has set a target of $100 billion apparel exports by 2030 and the country needs new investments like that done by Pacific group to achieve this target.
