Pakistan’s embassy in Bulgaria has opened ‘Pakistan Trade and Cultural Centre’ displaying samples relating to main Pakistani export items, including textile products, leather goods, sports goods, surgical instruments & medical supplies, Himalayan salt products and traditional Pakistani handicrafts.
The inauguration of the ceremony was carried out by the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov which was attended by different businessmen from Sofia as well as representatives of regional chambers.
He expressed gratitude to the embassy for its continuous efforts and initiatives to strengthen trade relations between the two friendly countries. The efforts were, but were not confined to, organizing exhibitions and arranging online B-2-B (Business to Business) meetings.
He also encouraged Bulgarian businesses to take advantage of the GSP+ status of Pakistan which allowed the import of products duty-free in the European markets. He hoped that the efforts for organizing exhibitions and arranging online B-2-B meetings would bear fruit.
It may be noted that Bulgaria is already importing plain woven fabrics of cotton, toilet linen and kitchen linen, bedlinen, worn clothing and clothing accessories, men’s or boys’ trousers, T-shirts, singlets and other vests of cotton from Pakistan.
