SPGPrints sold two TEAK rotary screen printers to Taihan in South Korea, and Paxtakor in Uzbekistan

During ITMA 2023, SPGPrints has sold two TEAK rotary screen printers to Taihan in South Korea, and Paxtakor in Uzbekistan. There is a lot of hype around digital textile printing solutions and their market growth, but Ruud Zantman, SPGPrints’s Chief Commercial Officer, said that 65% of all textile prints are produced using rotary machines.

Zantman has been at SPGPrints for six months and he made his ITMA debut in Milan. Zantman acknowledges that Uzbekistan, and Central Asia more broadly, is a high-growth market for textile printing. During ITMA 2023, Paxtakor has also invested in SPG’s Maple engraving machine alongside fellow Uzbekistan-based Global Textile and Indian firm Deesan Group.

One of the biggest challenges for the rotary screenprinting sector is its environmental record but, to mitigate this, the company has reconfigured its screenprinting mesh to reduce the amount of ink consumed in the process.

However, the company acknowledged the significance of inkjet technology. At ITMA, SPGPrints has promoted its patented automatic nozzle correction software Archer+ Pro, which comes as standard in its Magnolia printer.

The software ensures each ink droplet is positioned perfectly on the fabric. This means that less ink is consumed in the process because fewer passes are required to compensate for common, and often costly, print nozzle defects. By reducing errors, the technology also increases a user’s productivity.
