The Textile Association (India) to organize ‘World Textile Conference 2023’

The Textile Association of India is to host a global conference to address the strategies required to move the global textile and materials industries forward during this current period of market volatility.

Recognised as the world’s largest professional body in the textile industry, The TAI, which has about 25,000 members, will hold the event in Ahmedabad, India, from February 25-26, 2023.

Attracting leaders and practitioners from the fields of fibre to fashion, and from advanced textiles to nonwovens, speakers and delegates will discuss realigning the sector in line with the future needs of the industry and how best to react to the new supply and demand dynamics. “This is an event of major significance for the textile industry that will deliberate key challenges and opportunities and endeavor to chart out a growth plan,” said Dr. P. R. Roy, former group Chief Executive of Arvind Group, India.

Key themes under discussion will include how the industry should handle price volatility, developing new products, investments in R & D, and a focus on sustainability.

Amongst the industry experts presenting at the event will be Tony Fragnito, President of USA-based Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA) who will travel to India to interact with industry professionals and discuss about the status of the nonwovens sector. Elsewhere, views on the status of the textile sector will be highlighted by representatives from The Southern India Mills’ Association and key companies such as Indorama Ventures while the importance of research as a way forward will be highlighted by Bryan Haynes, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of INDA.
