Vietnamese garment export orders revived in September 2023

The beginning of September has seen Vietnamese garment export orders recovering gradually, due to buying sentiments increasing among consumers in the main markets of the US and EU.

Although orders may have not yet touched the pre-pandemic levels, they have started warming up, while at the same time, workers continue to retain their jobs as exporters take orders even at lower rates.

SSI Research in its latest analysis report on the textile and garment industry said that orders for the Vietnamese industry are expected to gradually improve from the fourth quarter of the year.

However, the research agency also projected that the selling price of exported clothing will be 20 percent lower than the average price in the previous year.

The agency also pointed out to a new trend of making faster deliveries, wherein from the 60 days earlier, it has now dropped to 24-30 days.

Textile and garment exports totaled US $3.6 billion in August, down 6 percent as against July, while in the first eight months of 2023; they stood at $26.1 billion, a year-on-year fall of 16 percent.
