66 Italian textile machine manufacturers exhibited in Shanghai

Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) returned to ITMA ASIA + CITME SHANGHAI, held after nine months of delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with 66 textile machines manufacturers. ACIMIT teamed up with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) to succeed in such a big event. Sixty-six textile machine manufacturers took part in the exhibition that opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai on June 12th. Italy was among the central exhibiting Countries attending the event as per previous editions. The presence of an enormous amount of companies showed that Asia is the leading destination for Italian textile machinery manufacturers. During 2020, a 38% share of global Italian textile machine exports were to the Asian countries.

China’s market was the dominant one in Asia with over €190 million investment, and the Turkish market was prominent globally. In Eastern China, the top three Provinces for the textile and garment industry: Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Fujian. These Provinces reached around 80% of the industry’s production capability. ACIMIT provided the opportunities to speed up the joint construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The Italian textile machinery industry’s focus on sustainability and innovation was also in line with the keystones of the Chinese 14th five-year plan and the Made in China 2025 plan. Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India were also among other important destinations of Italian machinery.

ACIMIT represents an industrial sector comprising roughly 300 manufacturers (employing around 12,900 people), which produce machinery for an overall worth of about 1.8 billion euros (including laundry machines), of which 83% are exported. Creativity, sustainable technology, reliability, and quality are the hallmarks that have made Italian textile machinery worldwide leaders. ITA is a governmental agency that supports the business development of textile companies abroad and promotes foreign investment in Italy.

Mayer, Mesdan, Monti Antonio, MS Printing Solutions, OBEM, PAFA, Reggiani and more.
