Sitting down and talking with the General Manager Processing of Nishat Chunian Ltd, Dyeing & Printing Division, Abdul Sattar about his experience with EFI Reggiani, he told TEXtalks, founded in 1990, NCG has made a name for itself in the Pakistani economy over the last 29 years. The printing division of Nishat Chunian is one of the best leading divisions in Pakistan. It has six printing machines including one rotary machine (Reggiani) and five digital printing machines (including two Reggiani digital printers).
When asked about the size of the Pakistani textile industry and at what rate is it growing, Abdul Sattar described that the Textile sector contributes 60 percent of the Pakistani economy. The growth rate of the textile sector is 12.8 percent per year and the total export in Pakistan textile is 5.2 billion USD. Abdul Sattar gave a brief insight about Nishat Chunian: annual spinning production of 85,000 tons of yarn, 54 million meters of greige fabric in weaving, and 36 million meters of the finished fabric.

“Market of digital textile printing is increasing as it offers better and high definition textile print design possibility, lower water, effluent, emission, and energy use in an economical way. There are more than a hundred digital printing machines installed for high-end fashion apparel and home textile market in Pakistan”, Abdul Sattar told us.

“We total utilise four machines of EFI Reggiani one is Reggiani rotary printing UNICA, second is Reggiani sampling machine, the third one is Reggiani digital printing Renoir TOP 340 and installed a few months ago Reggiani digital POWER 340,” said Abdul Sattar. “Our production is increasing with the best quality and we are overall satisfied with EFI Reggiani’s support.”
Every field has its own set of challenges, for Nishat Chunian, the General Manager told us that the challenges lie in the Digital printing solution: “Many machines manufacturers bring solutions regarding digital. Now we need to further reduce the operational cost of digital printing by decreasing ink cost, spare parts cost and overall machinery cost”.
With a little glimpse into the future, Abdul Sattar concluded that in Pakistan digital printing has a vast growth and many customers want digital print and are satisfied with this printing technology: “Nishat Chunian group is committed to enhancing business in digital printing. We currently have 5 digital printers and in future very near we are going to install five more digital printers in the coming year”.
