Al Ameen 75 Inspiring Years of Success with Gratitude

Al Ameen Trading Corporation (Private) Ltd. adopts a divisional approach to serve the textile sector in a more passionate and professional way
Al Ameen is a multidimensional organization specializing in varied services as distributors, engineers, and manufacturers’ representatives. Established just before partition in 1947, Al Ameen is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year.

The company has two arms i.e. Specialty Chemicals, Dyes, Pigments (as Archroma representatives), and Textile Machinery. The process knowledge and engineering synergizes their presence having sold the largest number of discontinuous and continuous plants in Pakistan. To align with new challenges Al Ameen has divided its responsibility into 3 business units namely yarn and fabric formation division includes Spinning, Weaving & Knitting. Another division is the Dyeing, Printing & Finishing area, and the latest is the garment division initiated in early 2000. In order to justify enough sales support for principals and for the customer’s sufficient backup on the service, each director has taken over divisional responsibility with their own independent sales and service teams. Furthermore, as the new generation has already taken on the responsibilities, each division will have its own leader with their teams looking to take the business to a new level.

A Glimpse of Al Ameen’s Milestones
A history of introducing the latest technologies in Pakistan to be part of the industrial process
Al Ameen is known for its state-of-the-art technology principals, innovative mindset, and patriotism to Pakistan. Both Pakistan and Al Ameen came into existence in the same year. It is of great interest to know about the company which has a long history of bringing innovative solutions to Pakistan. Such initiatives have addressed the pains of the industry in terms of problem-solving, resource-saving, efficiency, and quality enhancement.

We learn from Al Ameen, Pakistan has been exceptional and this can be seen through the generations despite the industry having gone through difficult phases. The courage, entrepreneurship, and adaptation of better means of production / newer technology have led on many occasions Pakistan to the lead position in the region. As a smaller wheel of the macro-dynamics, Al Ameen’s role of introducing and transferring know-how with time has tried to play its part in the fruition of these investments.

Segment: Dyeing, Printing & Finishing
The highest number of references in Pakistan of – Goller, Monforts, Fongs, Mahlo:
• Late 40s – the founder late K M Hussain gave hands on experience, trained new technicians to the nascent industry due to his earlier experience of running family’s weaving and dyeing manufacturing of bed sheets from the 1920s
• Late 50s – Introduction of Continuous Dyeing (Goller) at M/s Ahmed Abdul Ghani Textile Mills when Jigger and Winches were standard equipment.
• 1968/69 – Rotary Printing (Zimmer) at M/s Kohinoor Textile Mills, Lyallpur (Faisalabad) replacing Roller printing machine that had limitations on printing width, not beyond 1.8m, brightness of shades, engraving of copper rollers was expensive and cannot be reused.
• 1985 – Quality Control Consultancy, Designing of Labs and Supply of Equipment to help the exporting mills to comply & maintain specifications and standards. In-house labs were not common at that time.
• 1990 – Wider Width Continuous Thermosol Dyeing – Monforts resolved Side to Centre variation of shades due to precision on air circulation and temperature which was a common problem then in wider width fabrics.
• 1995 – 2012 Manufacturing of Winches, Garment Washing and HT Jet Dyeing Machines at Al Ameen Industries. Now serves as a service arm for principals.
• 2000 HT Airflow Patented Dyeing (THEN) with low liquor ratio 1:4 in Knit and Woven Mills at Vision, Fashion Knits, Eastern Garments, Klash, International Textile Mills. A novel concept for the textile world where liquor ratios of around 1:8 were a commonplace then drastically reducing consumption of steam, water, chemicals, and shorter dyeing cycle.
• 2003 – Wider Width Dyeing on Stenter through pigment coloration (Monforts). A breakthrough in sustainability giving mills the option to save on parameters like water, energy, and time due to a single-step process instead of pad steam dyeing.
• 2016 – Eco applicator from Monforts replaced Padder in many articles with a low add-on technique thus increasing the speed of Stenters and savings on energy. Flexibility to apply finishes on both sides of the fabric
• 2018 – Digital Printing by pigments, first in the country.
• 2022 – Baldwin Spray technology to replace padding as an economical option of applying chemicals through non-contact with less wastage, increase of drying speeds of stenter with substantial savings on energy and water.
