Picanol at Gtex with emphasis on improving the productivity, efficiency and to squeeze the running cost, energy consumption in the new products
TEXtalks: What products Picanol is promoting at Gtex?
Bruno Caffieri: Well we are coming out of the year of ITMA which was last year, and there we had the chance to show our new range of products. We introduced new models which we already succeeded to send to Pakistan and the installations will begin soon. The emphasis is on improving the productivity, the efficiency and to squeeze the running costs, energy in first place.
We also introduced two new models to weave Terry fabrics, one based on our well proved rapier technology (OptiMax-i) and the second based on our latest air jet OmniPlus Summum model. Terry weaving is one of the four most typical fabrics produced in Pakistan and we are sure to successfully enter as well with the right products. The market here is also enlarging and so is the complexity of fabrics that are now produced over here.
Last year it was a very good one for Picanol in Pakistan, as a matter of fact it was the best year ever for Picanol in Pakistan. Pakistan’s ranking is a solid top player in our sales ranking by country. We are very happy with the results, and these exhibitions are amazing as we get to read our customers’ Investments are going on, the industry is very much alive and the will of owners is there to steadily increase the production: a very good sign indeed. Despite the complications people are really believing in the textile industry of Pakistan which is growing and developing phenomenally. Our slogan for ITMA was “Lets grow together” and we are glad to grow with our Pakistani customers.
TEXtalks: Can you pls describe some new innovations from Picanol for Pakistani market?
Bruno Caffieri: Pakistani customers are world top if it comes to performance, and as such it is no wonder that our airjet looms have since many years been the first choice in Pakistan. Our OmniPlus Summum airjet loom can now also be equipped with the ARVDIIPlus for extra air saving, with PRAIIPlus, the fastest and most reliable automatic pick repair system on the market, and the Blue 22, the first prewinder on the market allowing pick length optimization during weaving. Also the newly launched Optimax-i rapier machine caters to customers who are looking for more high end or technical applications, or who want to offer their customers more versatility. On top of that, both our airjet and rapier looms are already best-in-class with the lowest energy required but we do want to get better and better all the time at it since energy saving is worldwide a must: both OmniPlus Summum and Optimax-i shoiw again a progress in this field.
TEXtalks: How do you see Pakistani market for Picanol products?
Bruno Caffieri: We are very happy with the results last year as I said earlier. In weaving actually, it is quite difficult for a client to change the supplier, so they need motivation and satisfaction which Picanol gives as it appears. If things continue at this pace this year would be even better as this market is continuously growing and developing.
