Nazer launches Nazmatic-K at Gtex
TEXtalks: Can you please describe the machinery you are exhibiting at Gtex?
Luqman Ali Mooraj: Nazer & Co have recently developed a compact fabric inspection machine specifically for knitted fabrics in open width. The issue with knitted fabric is its very susceptible to elongation and stretch, so the machine we developed had to take in consideration the tension of the fabric and therefore we have introduced a number of systems on this machine which controls the tension of the fabric from the take up to the rolling. For this we have individual motors on which all rollers are driven, each motor is coupled with a frequency inverter so we can play with the individual speed of the rollers for the take up and the rolling. We also have a compensator unit inside the machine just to control the tension of the fabric. The other issue that is normally encountered in knitted fabric is curling off the edges for which we have added individually run scroll rollers. At the rolling head is a sensor which senses the fabric selvedge and adjusts the rolling head. This ensures that when you wind your fabric, the edges come perfectly which is very important when you are producing export rolls. The third thing which we have started adding to our machine is a cutting unit.

The machine can be fully programmable for instance if you want to run a certain number of meters you can program the machine to run, for instance 100m, after which the machine stops, allowing the operator to take fabric roll off and cut it.

TEXtalks: Is this machine specifically for the Pakistani market?
Luqman Ali Mooraj: No, it isn’t specifically for the Pakistani market as we are aiming to export this machine as well. We have exported previous models successfully to many to many countries. Our primary market outside Pakistan is Bangladesh where we have been quite successful with our inspection machines.

TEXtalks: What are the additional advantages that textile industry can get from this machine?
Luqman Ali Mooraj: Apart from being able to run fabrics with very high lycra content like I said which is susceptible to elongation and stretch, this machines has the added advantage of running a wide variety of different fabrics because to the control systems we have incorporated in it. These control systems allow a great deal of flexibility which is to the advantage of the customer. More importantly, because we have a local manufacturing base it is very easy for us to support and in need, backup our customers. We have been here with over 60 years of experience in this field and it is this experience that we have gained that is all for the customer’s advantage.
