Bangladesh garment exports rose 13.07% between July & September 2023

In the first quarter ending September 30 of fiscal 2023-24, exports of Bangladesh readymade garments rose 13.07 percent to $11.61 billion compared to $10.27 billion in the same quarter of earlier fiscal.

“Of this, knitwear exports surged 19.70 percent to $6.76 billion as against $5.65 billion in the same period of fiscal 2022-23,” data released by the Export Promotion Bureau informed.

In the months between July and September, export earnings from woven garments grew slower at 4.97 percent to $4.85 billion from $4.62 billion in the same months of the previous fiscal.

However, home textile exports dropped massively by 46.39 percent to $189.5 million in the quarter under review from $353.48 million in the same quarter of fiscal 2022-23.

Overall Bangladeshi exports in the July to September quarter increased 9.51 percent to $13.68 billion as against $12.49 billion in the comparable quarter of fiscal 2022-23.
