When it comes to mattresses, the summer season is not considered the best in countries like Pakistan, where temperatures reach 46 oC. Sleeping on the bed is not comfortable if AC has not been installed. The conventional mattress covers act as heat-resistant materials or manages heat transfer poorly, leading to discomfort. Culp Home Fashions has come up with ChillSense to solve this issue. The ChillSense is a circular knitted mattress designed to transfer the body heat and leave a soft, comfortable, and relaxing feel.
The knitted fabrics are soft to touch and provide optimum flexibility to be molded according to the design of the mattress. Apart from its multifunctional touch, the sustainability aspects have also been considered to develop such a Masterpiece. The REPREVE fibers have been used with ChillSense. Repreve fibers have been certified already for their sustainability (U TRUST verification). Thus, the utilization of such recycled yarns into knitted products promotes sustainability and enhances customer satisfaction.
The ChillSense fibers are the product of Unifi having an instantaneous sensation of coolness to the touch. Mr. Jeff Veach, Culp Home Fashions, said, “The cooling technology is inherent within the yarn, not requiring the addition of chemicals. ChillSense powered by Repreve combines performance and sustainability elements in one fabric and represents an affordable offering for our customers and consumers to make a sustainability-based buying decision. Since 2019, Culp has helped divert over 63 million plastic bottles from going into waste streams by incorporating Repreve recycled fiber into its mattress fabrics and upholstery fabrics products, including the ChillSense powered by Repreve line. We are excited to offer two great technologies in one.”
