China to invest in Pakistan by setting up advanced textile and agricultural machinery

Pakistan and China have been getting along through their political friendship for some time now therefore, both the countries should take benefit from this alliance by strengthening their trade and economic relations. According to stats, Pakistan’s exports to China were around $2 billion.

Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the President leading a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) visited China’s embassy in Islamabad to meet with Xie Guoxiang, Minister Counsellor to discuss how Chinese companies should transfer technology to Pakistan and set up JVs and industrial units in our country.

This way, Chinese investors could export their products to many markets of the world including South Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Africa. He said that China was the world’s second largest economy with annual trade of trillions of dollars.

Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan said that Pakistan needs help in the agricultural sector and China is very advanced in the agricultural field and hence can help us improve its per acre yield by sharing its agro machinery and technology. He also said that an online conference will be held on January 22, 2021 by the Department of Commerce of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China to further discuss this matter.

The focus will be on the textile and garment industry, textile machinery and equipment, agricultural products. It will greatly benefit the Pakistani business community and therefore, he urged them to attend the meeting. Discussions are also circulating regarding signing the MoU of cooperation between ICCI and Chinese Capital Chamber of Commerce & Industry to strengthen the business ties.
