Citizens of Humanity collaborates with “Kiss The Ground,” to promote sustainable agriculture & regenerative cotton

More non-profit groups are partnering with brands to promote cotton cultivation through sustainable agriculture. Kiss the Ground, a non-profit has partnered with the apparel group Citizens of Humanity in this regard.

The US-based apparel brand that markets brands like Goldsign, A Gold, and Citizens of Humanity is deepening its existing commitment to regenerative cotton by joining hands with education non-profit Kiss the Ground on a new trademark. Together the partnership aims to create awareness among cotton farmers on sustainable cultivation.

The group aims to motivate people, brands, suppliers, and farmers the transition to regenerative agriculture. Citizens of Humanity will collaborate with both Kiss the Ground and environmental consultancy Advancing Eco Agriculture to teach farmers about the regenerative methods most suited to their own lands. The project is named Kiss the Ground Cotton project.

The soil of the participant cotton farmers would also be tested and the plant health will be monitored on an annual basis. A program to provide financial support according to the individual needs of the farmers is part of the project. The harvested cotton produced through this process has been trademarked as Kiss the Ground Cotton. Citizens of Humanity group would consume this cotton for all its three brands.

The sponsor would provide the non-profit a certain fund for every pound of cotton produced. This amount would be used to promote regenerative agriculture. The partnership is hopeful that more farmers and textile mills would sign over time to support the clean cotton concept.
