German fashion retailer C&A is adopting GSDCost, Coats Digital’s software solution

C&A is a renowned European fashion retail chain that offers affordable clothing for men, women, and children. The company was founded in 1841 by brothers Clemens and August Brenninkmeijer in the Netherlands, and it has since expanded to over 20 countries across Europe, South America, and Asia.

C&A offers a wide range of clothing items, including casual and formal wear, sportswear, lingerie, and accessories. The company is known for its commitment to sustainability and ethical practices, including the use of organic cotton and reducing water usage in its production processes.

In recent years, C&A has also launched several initiatives to promote sustainable fashion, such as the “We Take it Back” program, which allows customers to bring in old clothes to be recycled or repurposed.

Overall, C&A has established itself as a popular and accessible fashion brand in Europe and beyond, with a focus on affordability, sustainability, and ethical practices.

The retailer, has over 1,300 stores in 17 European countries, hopes to provide improved accuracy and forecasting within its garment manufacturing process by establishing international standard time benchmarks.

Nitin Kumar, of C&A sourcing Asia, said; “GSDCost can bring transparency to our sourcing process through a standardised time management methodology, and further support the sustainable growth together with our supply partners.”

Coats Digital solution is a scientific and objective methods analysis process which creates a method standard to help establish and optimise ‘international standard time benchmarks’ for all sewn products, using standard motion codes and predetermined times.
