The Orthopac RXVMC-20 straightening concept by Mahlo is specially designed for processing textiles with high distortion dynamics, i.e. textiles with highly variable distortions. It is based on independently controllable/adjustable straightening modules that guarantee maximum control over the straightening process.
Areas of Application
The textile industry, especially knitwear production, is increasingly confronted with high quality standards regarding permissible residual distortion. These require a high level of performance from the straightening machines, which is difficult to achieve with conventional methods. Knitted fabrics often exhibit variable distortions, which are influenced by various factors such as the sewing together of short pieces to form larger batches, the type of knitted fabrics and the processing in previous processes. To meet these quality requirements, Mahlo has developed an innovative straightening concept based on optimized straightening mechanics and advanced scanning evaluation electronics. The new Orthopac RXVMC-20 straightening concept is characterized by an intelligent combination of control and regulation, which enables rapid correction of the measured distortion.
Basics
The Orthopac RXVMC-20 straightening concept consists of two individually controllable and driven straightening modules that effectively correct distortions in textiles with high distortion dynamics. Distortion sensors at the infeed of the first straightening module detect the distortion fluctuations in the fabric before they reach the straightening rollers. The straightening rollers are adjusted using stepless, hydraulic or electric drives.
An intelligent, self-optimizing and AI-enhanced control algorithm ensures a highly precise and fast response to the measured fabric distortion.
Conclusion
The separation and individual positioning of the respective straightening modules was the basis for the development of a completely new control concept – a combination of control and regulation. It enables an even more precise and faster response to rapidly changing distortions. Lower profits due to non-compliance with residual distortion values are now a thing of the past.
Recently Orthopac RXVMC-20 was installed at the well-known textile finishing company Tintoria Finissaggio 2000.
The company specialized in finishing treatments of all kinds as well as mechanical and chemical/physical finishing processes, for improving the look, feel and physical properties of fabrics – ranging from natural, to artificial, synthetic knit and woven fibres – according to both their potential uses and their natural characteristics.
In 2023 the company invested largely in new finishing machines and equipped the new stenter with the Orthopac RXVMC-20 from Mahlo. Already a few months after the commissioning is clear that the decision to opt for the new Mahlo concept was the right decision.
