Indian govt launches Cott-Ally app for cotton farmers

Among several measures, the Indian government has developed – Cott-Ally mobile app for cotton farmers to increase awareness about Minimum Support Prices (MSP), nearest procurement centers, payment tracking, best farm practices, etc.

This was informed by the Union Minister of State for Ministry of Textiles, Darshana Jardosh in a written reply to the Indian Parliament.

Among other measures, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare is implementing a cotton development programme under the National Food Security Mission (NFSM) in 15 major cotton-growing states with the aim to increase production and productivity.

The assistance is being provided to the farmers on various types of demonstrations, trials on high-density planting systems, distribution of plant protection chemicals and bio agents as well as national and state level trainings.
