TEXtalks: Germany and Pakistan are celebrating 70 years of Friendship, what would you say?
André Wissenberg: Congratulations. What a wonderful jubilee. Looking back in history, I like to say, that our long-standing customer relationships are not only characterized by our business, but above all by friendship across all borders and cultures. Our cooperation has always been proactive, collaborative and forward-looking. We appreciate this very much and are grateful for that. Our Oerlikon team shares a lot of great and challenging experiences in this beautiful country, which we always successfully completed together with our customers and partners in the end. Especially in the times of the pandemic, in which all parties involved stood even closer together.
TEXtalks: How Oerlikon’s technology is contributing to the advancement of the textile industry in Pakistan?
André Wissenberg: As an innovation leader with sustainable, energy-saving technologies for the production of manmade fibers, our customers can always look forward to the highest quality results for their end products. This is also reflected in the fact that Pakistan’s manmade fiber industry has continued to develop very positively with increasing shares of sales markets both at home and abroad. Since the global demand for fibers and yarns is likely to be met predominantly by polyester alone, the need for future projects automatically arises here.
TEXtalks: How long is Oerlikon’s collaboration with Pakistan’s textile market?
André Wissenberg: We have now been active locally for over more than 40 years and accompany all major manufacturers. We are pleased to have been a competent partner to them all for such a long time.
TEXtalks: Pakistan is a potential market, how do you see to increase the outreach of Oerlikon products to the local industry?
André Wissenberg: As I said, we are active on site with all the major manufacturers, but we are also happy about any new investment. Our product portfolio is unique – from melt to yarn, fibers and nonwovens. Comprehensive plants, machines and components along the textile value chain. There are the best technology solutions available for everyone. We also have strong local partners and an excellent Oerlikon network to meet all needs.
