The first supplier list of Pakistan Accord published

According to the latest list published by the Pakistan Accord, it has been joined by almost 425 in-country suppliers, that supply textile items to 52 global brands that are a signatory to the accord.

These around 425 suppliers collectively employ 470,000 workers and are responsible for the supply of 52 signatory brands with textiles and apparel. This way the rights of these workers are fully protected.

According to the administrators of the Accord, the current list includes those that joined up till July 25. The list will be updated as more signatories join the Pakistan Accord.

The list titled the Factory disclosure report for Pakistan, gives details of business names, contact information, production processes, and factory layouts. This is perhaps the first such data that gives a transparent description of what is going on in the textile units of Pakistan.

The data points provide important details on the structure, floors, workforce size, and active brands within each supplier facility,” revealed the executive director of governing body of the International Accord, Joris Oldenziel. The international Accord looks forward to this information playing a key role in mapping the Pakistani textile and garment industry and in ensuring transparency and accountability within the supply chains of our signatories, she added.
