152-years old “lUMBERJEANS” trend reintroduced!

According to the innovative British brand Vollebak the first jeans were made for lumberjacks, about 152 years ago. The company announced that it is reintroducing its Blue edition ‘lumberjeans’.

In every industry, there’s someone building the future, whether it’s technology, architecture, food, cars, or space rockets. Vollebak was founded by twin brothers, Nick and Steve Tidball. They claim that their brand is based on the prudent use of science and technology to create clothes for the future. Their website boasts “we design clothes for next century and not for next summer”

The blue lumber jeans are made from a 14 oz raw selvage denim fabric procured from the Japanese mill Kaihara and woven on shuttle looms with high-strength aramid fibers. The fiber is made of 82 percent cotton blended with an 8 percent aramid blend. This fibre, the brand says, is normally used for body armor. Cordura panels have been added to the jeans to further reinforce the seat and knees. According to the manufacturers, these jeans could survive a 75 kmph fall and drag on concrete. For its black lumber jeans, the brand uses denim fabric that is made from a blend of cotton and Dyneema.

The twin brothers are striving to push the boundaries of durability in the wearables they have been making since 2015. Quality jeans are made from a stronger, heavier weight of denim. They should not only look luxurious but feel luxurious, too. So get your hands on the fabric when shopping. Generally speaking, apart from summer jeans, lightweight denim (i.e. anything below 12 ounces) may equate to a lower quality.
