The Vietnamese Trade Office in India set up a pavilion to introduce Vietnamese textiles and apparel at Intex South Asia. This textile sourcing show was held in New Delhi, India, last week.
Various exhibitors from Vietnam showcased several textile and clothing products like yarn, fabrics, garments, apparel accessories, etc, at the exhibition.
“During the exhibition, several Indian companies have expressed interest in cooperating with Vietnamese businesses to explore the import of their products into India,” media reports stated.
“We hope that Vietnamese enterprises will set up and increase their business in India to take advantage of India’s large population,” said Shubhra Agarwal, Director at the Indian Ministry of Textiles.
The event, a leading international textile sourcing show in South Asia, has been organized 11 times in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and India since 2015.
At this edition, more than 100 exhibitors of fiber, yarn, fabric, apparel accessories, dyes, and chemicals participated in the show.
“Vietnam’s textile and garment exports to India in the first ten months of 2023 totaled US $150 million, growing by 10 percent over the same period in an earlier year,” data from Vietnamese Customs informed.
